These days I take NOTHING for granted. 30 years + of Bible teachings and significant investments in lectures, and I still find myself stumbling over the most “elementary” things.
This is intended to be a short article.
But hopefully it will make you think.
The Whole Armor of God
Let’s take a look at the Ephesians scripture on putting on the whole Armor of God.
Eph 6:10-18
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Wake Up Call
How many of you have done what I have done?
Okay, I admit it. I would pray “Dear Lord, In Jesus Name, I put on the “Whole Armor of God”. I even told the Lord each and every one of the pieces of armor in my prayer. I said “Lord let me have the power of the spirit” and Lord “let me have the “shield of faith”.
But I missed the point.
It does you utterly no good whatsoever, to not spiritually discern what the scripture means. You can pray all you want for the protection of the Whole Armor of God, but if you don’t DO what the scripture says to do – it’s meaningless.
Not a Magic Chant for Protection
This is not some magic chant for your protection. These are divine instructions for what you are supposed to do to STAND against the Devil and his evil minions.

READ THE WORD OF GOD
YOU ARE TO BECOME BATHED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
YOU ARE TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST TEMPTATION AND BECOME RIGHTEOUS
YOU ARE TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE GOSPEL IS ONE OF LOVE AND PEACE
YOU ARE TO “WIELD THE SWORD” OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AGAINST DARKNESS

By the way….that was a FANTASTIC article (both of them actually)……but the ARMOR OF GOD one was EXCELLENT!!!! After reading it, I went to my mom and was like, "Ma….check this out….."……she thought it was tremendous as well. I, just like you, always went through the "morning ritual" of "putting on the armor" and did it "piece by piece"……I feel silly now…..but that was a GREAT take on it brother!! PRAISE JESUS!!

Remember there is 7 parts of the armor, not 6…..whats the last one? Isaiah 59:17…and clad with zeal as a cloak.
